Barbara L. Garrett, 76, of Pocopson Home, formerly of Downingtown, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Neighborhood Hospice Center in West Chester. She was the widow of the late Charles Garrett, who passed away in 1997.

Born in Easton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Carrie Marshall Stevens. She was employed by the Pepperidge Farm of Downingtown for 20 years, retiring 11 years ago.

Tempie Lynn Armstrong, 41, of Wagontown, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at the Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Paul H. and Sara J. Leslie Armstrong.

An area resident her entire life, she was a 1981 graduate of the Coatesville High School. Tempie was employed at the Coatesville V.A. Medical Center as a Management Assistant for 25 years.

Roger Edinger, 57, of Delano PA, formerly of Coatesville, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2009 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester. Born in Delano, he was the son of the late Phaon S. and Blanche Schad Edinger.

He was employed at St. Jude Polymer Corp. of Frackville, PA as a Machine Operator. He was a 1970 graduate of the Mahoney Area School. Roger enjoyed watching sports.

Chester A. "Chetty" Taylor, Jr., 53, of Parkesburg, passed on Thursday, January 22nd, 2009 following a brief illness. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Chester A. Taylor Sr. and Carmille A. Griffith Taylor.

He was a 1973 graduate of the Coatesville High School. Chetty owned and operated "Chester A. Taylor Plumbing and Heating."

Russell E. Armentrout, 92, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 under the care of the Hospice of Lancaster County at the Essa Flory Hospice Center in Lancaster.  He was the widower of his late wife, Catherine Giannotta Armentrout. 

Born in Penlaird, Virginia, he was the son of the late Jacob and Minnie Getz Armentrout.  An area resident of Coatesville, Pomeroy and the Gap area since he was four years old, Russell was employed at the former Lukens Steel Co., retiring in 1979.  He was a member of the Lukens Veteran's Guild.

Catherine M. Donarski, 84, of Coatesville, formerly of Florida, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at her daughter Joyce's home in Coatesville. She was the widow of her late husband of 64 years, Arthur Joseph Donarski, Sr. who passed away on December 12, 2008.

Born on March 18, 1924 in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Magdalene Stocko Rupp. Catherine owned and managed her own restaurant for 35 years, retiring from the business 33 years ago.

Tina Thomas Jones, 59, of Coatesville, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Brandywine Hospital.  She was the widow of the late Horace E. Jones.

Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Doris Baum Thomas. 

She is survived by her daughter, Sophia R. Jones Copper of Downingtown, grandchildren, Tyleeka Jones, Cheyenne J. Cooper and Charles J. Cooper Jr., as well as her former son-in-law, Charles J. Cooper Sr.

Captain Lewis E. Bair, age 85, of Parkesburg, PA, and Charlestown Manor, MD, crossed the final bar on Friday, January 16, 2009. He retired from 40 years with The International Organization of Masters, Mates, and Pilots. He held a Masters License -- any gross ton Oceans and a First Class Pilot License -- Chesapeake Bay from Cape Henry to Baltimore.

Thomas M. Rollinson, 73, of Coatesville, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Neighborhood Hospice Inpatient Unit of West Chester. He was the husband of Edna Flanagan Rollinson, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Norman and Violet Oxier Rollinson. He served honorably in the US Navy. Thomas was employed at the Ford Motor Co. in Pennsauken, New Jersey. He enjoyed fishing and Philadelphia Sports.

Donald F. Tennant, Sr., 67, of Kinzers, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at his home. He was the widower of the late Janet Gouge Tennant, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late William H. Tennant and Ruth Conway Tennant. He was a 1959 graduate of the Octorara High School and served honorably in the US Army from 1959 to 1962. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel Co. for 35 years as a Electric Furnace Operator, retiring in 2000.
