Olive M. Parker, 99, of Honey Brook, formerly of Coatesville, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at the Hickory House Nursing Home. She was the widow of the late Harry A. Parker who died in 1996. Born in Sheltonham, PA, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin C. and Virginia Wood Needham.

Olive was an area resident most of her life. She was a member of the former Coatesville Presbyterian Church.

Margaret H. Morgan, 91, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, formerly of Parkesburg, passed away in at her home on Saturday January 10, 2009. She was the widow of the late Ralph N. Morgan. Born in Gap, PA she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Wise Hendry. "Peg" was employed by the former Lukens Steel Co. of Coatesville. She was a member of the Parkesburg Methodist Church and the Fraternal Order of The Eastern Star Chapter #249 of Coatesville.

David V. Holmes, 55, of Parkesburg, passed away at his home on Saturday Janaury 10, 2009. He was the husband of Karen Gilchrist Holmes with whom he shared 14 years of marriage. Born in Chester, PA he was the son of Jennie Buonsante Holmes of Brookhaven and the late Joseph Holmes. David was a 1972 graduate of Ridley High School. He served in the US Navy from 1974 to 1976. David was employed by Innovative Cabinetry of King of Prussia as a machine operator. He enjoyed coaching little league soccer and he was an active member of the Parkesburg United Methodist Church.

Ralph S. Miller, 86, of Parkesburg, died on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Elsmere V.A. Hospital in Wilmington, DE. Ralph was born in Atglen and was the son of the late Norman Sr. and Elsie Jane Boots Miller.

He had lived in this area all his life and had served in the US Army during W.W.II in N. Africa and had received the American Campaign Metal, European - African - Middle Eastern Campaign Metal with two Bronze Stars and the W.W.II Victory Metal.

Todd R. Bottke, 41, of Cochranville, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Christiana Hospital in Delaware. He was the husband of Ginger M. Spanakos Bottke, with whom he shared 17 years of marriage.

Born in Mount Kisco, NY, he was the son of the late Frank E. and Bernice Bottke. He was a graduate of West Chester East High School. Todd was employed by the Colonial Chevrolet of Chestertown, MD.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two sons: Colby and Tanner Bottke; siblings, Warren Bottke of Florida, and June Frisch and John Bottke both of West Chester.

James R. Morris, Sr., 50, of Pomeroy Heights, Coatesville, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at his home, surrounded by his family.  He was the husband of Susan Varley Morris, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage.   

Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late William F. Morris Jr. and Gloria Rulon Morris.  He had been employed at Resource Plus as a Regional Manager, retiring three years ago.  He had most recently worked for Krapf Bus Co.

Dora Snyder, 98, of Havertown, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2009 at the Hickory House of Honey Brook. She was the widow of the late Alva M. Snyder.

She was born in Dover, DE. After her retirement, Dora was a caretaker for those who were confined to their homes. She was a member of the Grace Chapel in Havertown.

She is survived by five children: Jane Taylor, Howard Snyder, Flora Murtaugh, Blanche Taylor, and Carl Snyder; a half-sister, Mary Catherine Schneigle; 11 grandchildren, 15 great, grandchildren and six great, great grandchildren.

Donald E. Couram, 51, of Coatesville, passed away at his home on December 31, 2008. He was the husband of Martha Spencer Couram. Born in Taylorville, NC he was the son of the late Edward and Wanda Grogan Couram.

Donald was employed by Rittenbaugh, Inc. of Phoenixville as a truck driver. He enjoyed trips to his hunting club.

Bobby Joe VanHorn, 71, of Atglen, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2008 at the Coatesville VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Judith Ann Allabaugh VanHorn.

Born in Ashland, KY, he was the son of the late Malt and Pearl Bradley VanHorn.

Mr. VanHorn proudly served in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1963. An area resident for 23 years, he was employed by Cutler Dairy of Philadelphia retiring in 2002. He was a member of Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Parkesburg, the Teamsters Union and the Masonic Lodge.

Sheila Coffman Wolfe, 55, of Cochranville, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the Christiana Hospital in Delaware. 

Born in Bryn Mawr, she was the daughter of Mark Coffman of Earleville, MD and Rose A. Hays, wife of Ron, of Cochranville.  She was a 1971 graduate of the Octorara High School.  Sheila had been employed by the State of PA as a Psychology Nurses' Aide at the Wernersville State Hospital.
