Donald James Brett, 72, of Atglen, PA, passed away at his home on Friday, November 1, 2024. He was the loving husband of Linda Callen Brett for over 52 years. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John and Marie Propert Brett.

 

   Donald worked on the custodial crew for the Octorara School District where he took great pride in his work and forged many meaningful relationships with his coworkers.

   His huge heart and wicked sense of humor were how he left his mark on the world.

Daniel V. Fitzpatrick, Jr., 75, of East Fallowfield, PA, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Charlotte C. Schmids Fitzpatrick with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Daniel V. Fitzpatrick, Sr. and Theresa C. McGrail Fitzpatrick.

Dan was born and raised in Massachusetts and was a graduate of  Stoughton High School. He then proudly served in the US Marine Corps as a bugler  with Marine Drum and Bugle Corps in Washington, DC  from 1967 to 1970.

Joyce S. Wright, 88, of Christiana, PA, passed away on Sunday, November, 3, 2024 at the Newport Meadows Nursing Home. She was the widow of Jack L. Wright, Sr. who died in 2021. They shared 40 years of marriage. Born in Honey Brook, PA, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Evelyn Wise Smith. 

Joyce was an area resident all her life and a graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville. She was employed as an office worker with Cardinal Cotton Fabrics. 

Joyce was a member of the Wagontown Union Chapel in Wagontown, PA.

Marlene M. Beecher, 76, of Millersville, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford, PA.

Born on November 29, 1947, in Coatesville PA, she was the daughter of the late Mark J. Stoltzfus and Margaret E. Powell Stoltzfus.

She was the widow of the late Earl Robert Beecher who died in 2013.

Marlene was a 1965 graduate of Octorara High School.

Scott Lester King, 63, of Christiana, PA, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, October, 23, 2024. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Lester King and Elaine Tollinger Simes.

Scott was an area resident all his life and he attended the Solanco High School. He was employed, most of his life in the Steel Industry as a welder.

He is survived by two half sisters; Stacie Sauzer of Millsboro, DE and Sean Pratt of Florida, one aunt Joanne Hogg and husband Harold of Atglen, PA and two nieces Carri Hogg of Harrisburg, PA and Melissa Hogg of Indiana, PA.

Hayes Todd Pfitzenmeyer Jr. 95, formerly of Coatesville, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at his residence at Garden Spot Village, New Holland Pennsylvania. Born in Sadsburyville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Hayes Todd Pfitzenmeyer Sr. and Eva Earnshaw Pfitzenmeyer.

Todd was a 1947 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville and a 1951 graduate of Randolph Macon College, Virginia. In 1951 he enlisted in the US Army and served in the Korean War. Later, he continued his education, receiving a master's degree from Pennsylvania State University.

Allen F. Carr, Sr., 75, of Kinzers, PA, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA. He was the beloved husband of Connie L. Anderson Carr with whom he shared 50 years of marriage with. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late James Carr and Elizabeth Peters DiObilda.

Allen grew up in the Coatesville area and attended the former Scott High School. He was employed most of his life as an auto body technician and had worked for many local auto repair shops and dealerships down through the years.

David L. McLimans, 78, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA. He was the beloved husband of Stephannie Yager McLimans with whom he shared almost 18 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Claude Martin McLimans and Louise Light McLimans.

Dave was an area resident all his life and a 1963 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and honorably served in Vietnam with C Battery, 56 Field Artillery.

Myrtle M. Reinike, 97, of Hesston, PA, formerly of Lancaster County, Chester County, and New Castle County, DE, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at the Cedar Haven Healthcare Center in Lebanon, PA.

She was the widow of the late William Arthur Reinike, Jr. who died in 2011. They were married for 22 years. Prior to her marriage to Art, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard E. Ewing, in 1986 after 37 years of marriage. Born in 1927 in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mamie (Seace) Lawrence.

Harvey Marshall Shutters, 78, of West Caln Township, PA, passed away at his home on Monday, October 21, 2024.  He was the husband of Lois Horblinski Shutters for over 44 years.  Born in Walton, NY, he was the son of the late Harvey M. McNulty and Lillian Closs.

Harvey was a previous resident of Gap, PA, and Wagontown, PA.  He retired from Denny's restaurant in Lancaster, PA.
