Donald James Brett, 72, of Atglen, PA, passed away at his home on Friday, November 1, 2024. He was the loving husband of Linda Callen Brett for over 52 years. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John and Marie Propert Brett.
Donald worked on the custodial crew for the Octorara School District where he took great pride in his work and forged many meaningful relationships with his coworkers.
His huge heart and wicked sense of humor were how he left his mark on the world.
Don was also a talented musician, playing guitar, bass and keyboard for a variety of bands in his youth, but his passion was classic rock. He also enjoyed mixing and sound engineering. He always played by ear, but, as he would say, "sometimes it's hard to hold the pick".
Besides his wife he is survived by his daughters, Cora Lyn Brett of Atglen, and Linda (Doug) Dykhouse of Elverson, PA, a granddaughter, Layla St. George of Elverson, a sister, Marie Longen of Ridley Park, PA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, John (Jack) Brett, Patricia Brett, Brian Brett, and Colleen Losanowych.
A private service will be held at a future date.
