Donald A. Althouse, 92, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, in Glen Mills, PA.  He was the husband of Hubertha "Bep" Althouse for over 50 years.  Born in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late Albert and Anna (Piersol) Althouse.

Brenda J. Quickel, 83, of Kinzers, PA, passed away at her home on Sunday, October 20, 2024.  She was the wife of Wilson Quickel for over 65 years.  Born in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Gladys (Brown) Doyle.

Brenda was an area resident for most of her life.  She graduated from Scott High School in Coatesville and worked several jobs over the years, including Weavers Chicken and Amelia's Grocery Store.  She was an active member of Faith Community Church in Atglen, PA, helping in the kitchen, cleaning, and with various activities.

Charles Lewis Jackson, 61, of New Holland, PA, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Hospital of  University of Philadelphia.  Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Charles W. Jr. and Margaret E. Kurtz Jackson.

 

Chuck worked as a high voltage electrician at BJ Baldwin Electric Inc. for over 30 years. He was an avid Pro Philly sports fan and baseball aficionado.

Elizabeth Mae "Betty" Benner, 96, formerly of Westwood, PA, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Harrison Senior Living in Valley Township, PA.  She was the wife of the late Gerald I. Benner who passed away in 2017.  Born in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Louis Earl and Bessie L. Krixer Osborn.

Betty was an area resident most of her life.  She was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church in East Fallowfield and the former Westwood Union Chapel.  She was an Avon representative and worked the Election Polls. She belonged to the Parkesburg Area Senior Citizens.

Mary Ella Beale Wallace, 96, of Coatesville, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at the Paoli Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of George Donald Wallace, a WWII Veteran, who died in 2022. They shared 72 years of marriage together. Born in the Coatesville Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Fred M. Beale and Marion Gillespie Beale.

Mary Ella was a lifelong area resident and a 1946 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville. She was employed for 30 years by the Lukens Steel Company. She has lived the last seven years at Harrison House in Coatesville.

Charlotte C Wrigley, 88, of Cochranville, PA, passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.  She was the wife of the late Marvin C. Wrigley who passed away in 1997.  Born in West Grove, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Annie (Webster) Carr.

Florence Christine (Thompson) Ruehmling, 95, of Coatesville, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Heatherwood Retirement Community of Honey Brook, PA. She was the widow of Warren Arthur Ruehmling who died in 1995. They shared 42 years of marriage together. Born in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Percy Wallace Thompson and Edith Beullah Zoeller Thompson.

Brian Patrick Hagan, 41, of Ephrata, PA. passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Ephrata Community Hospital after a courageous two year battle with Lung Cancer.  He was the beloved husband of Desiree E. Shumate Hagan with whom he shared three and a half years of marriage. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, he was the son of Arthur D. Hagan of Lancaster and Cynthia Mekush of Oklahoma.

Brian was a 2001 graduate of the Carl Albert High School in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was employed by SDL Construction for several years prior to his illness.

Janis T. Nippes, 71, of Honey Brook, passed away at her home on Monday, October 7, 2024. She was the beloved wife of David C. Nippes with whom she shared over 45 years of marriage together. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Louis J. Torre and Rose Baldassarre Torre. 

Janis was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the clerical department.

She was a member of the Greater Downingtown BPW.
