Hazel M. Townsend, 94, of Parkesburg, PA, formerly of Cochranville, PA, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 24, 2024. She was the wife of the late William C. Townsend who passed away in January 2022. Born in West Grove, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Josephine (Powell) Mellinger.

William D. Houck, 83, of Gap, PA, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024 at the Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA. He was the beloved husband of Ethel L. Green Houck with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Raymond Houck and Hazel E. Trout Houck. 

Bill was an area resident most of his life and 1958 graduate of the Twin Valley High School. He was employed as a machinist at Huhtamaki Paper Packaging, Inc. in Paoli, PA.

Pedro Luis Torres, 78, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Pedro was born in Huanuco, Peru on April 12, 1945. He was the son of Pedro Torres Sr. and Isabel Fernandez de Torres.

Larry A Testa, 80, of Cochranville, PA passed away on March 20, 2024 in West Chester, PA. He was the loving, devoted husband and best friend of Stephania (Losito) Testa. On March 16th they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Born in Meyersdale, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew S and Esther (Swearman) Testa.

Gary Wayne Williams, 67, of West Caln Township, PA, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, in Philadelphia, PA. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Don B. and Dorothy (Clayton) Williams.

Gary attended Eastern University and Villanova University and earned his Associate Degree in Business. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army National Guard. He was a police officer for Caln Township and retired as K-9 corporal with the West Brandywine Police Department.

Dorothy "Diem" Keihm, age 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA after a brief illness.  She was the widow of the late Neil W. Keihm with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.  Born October 4, 1931 she was the daughter of the late  Clarence E. Diem and Ella Mae (Sharp) Diem.

Sean Patrick Whiteford, 54, of West Caln Township, passed away at his home on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Born in Yeadon, PA he was the son of Vincent W. and Catherine F. Montgomery Whiteford of Lincoln University, PA.

Sean was an area resident most of his life and a 1989 graduate of the Coatesville Area High School. After school, he enlisted in the US Navy and served honorably from 1989 to 1997. He got his associates degree after he left the US Navy.

He was employed by the Chester Water Authority in the maintenance department.

Elaine Winecoff Lantz Pickering, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday March 15, 2024 after a brave struggle with Lymphoma.

Elaine graduated from Octorara Area High School in 1963, and was working in the Chester
County Commisioners Office when she met and married the love of her life, Norman Pickering.

She was full of life and enjoyed bicycling, skiing, traveling around the country in their camper
bus; and of course golfing.

James J. Halter, 90, of Parkesburg, passed away on Friday March 15, 2024 at the Tel-Hai Nursing Home, Honey Brook, PA. 

Jim was a Parkesburg resident all his life and a 1952 graduate of the former Parkesburg High School. He enlisted in the US Navy and served on the heavy cruiser USS Toledo in the Pacific during the Korean Conflict and later he served on the USS Destroyer Shelton in the South Pacific during the initial testing of the Hydrogen Bomb called  "Operation Redwing" at the Bikini Atoll.

Jan Marie John Gordon, 67, of Gap, PA, passed away at her home on Sunday, March 10, 2024.  Born in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence L. and Edna Geraldine "Jeri " (White) John, and step-daughter of Janis John of West Chester, PA.

Jan was a 1974 graduate of Octorara High School and was employed as a daycare worker and as a dance instructor at Jeri Jon’s Studios in Gap.
