Nellie M. Pennington, 63, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in West Chester, PA.  Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Duffy and Martha Pennington.

Nellie was employed as a cafeteria worker for the Downingtown School District.

She enjoyed playing the lottery, socializing with friends, and listening to Mary J. Blige. Most of all she treasured the time spent with her beloved grandchildren.

Joy E. Witkowski, 77, of Honey Brook, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024. She was the wife of the late Benjamin J. Witkowski who passed away in 2014. They were married for 46 years. Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Dorothy Wallace Anderson.

Ronald W. Patton, Sr., 91, of Valley Township, Chester County, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at the Southeastern Veterans Center in Spring City, PA. He was the husband of the late Charlotte A. Romanoski Patton who died in 2015, they shared 60 years of marriage together. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Robert K. Patton, Sr. and Margaret A. Warner Patton.

Samuel J. Ganow, 65, of Cochranville, went to be with the Lord as a result of an airplane accident on Thursday, February 1, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Kendelyn Cadman Ganow, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage. Sam was born in Mississippi, and raised in Grand Island, Nebraska. He was the son of the late Glen and Ruth Lillard Ganow, and was adopted by the late Ed and Norma Lillard after the passing of his parents.

Charles Lee Witherspoon, Sr., 76, of Coatesville, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 1, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Charles Bell and Lillian Witherspoon. He was raised by his late foster parents Mr. and Mrs. Brown in West Grove, PA. 

He was a 1966 graduate of Avon Grove High School and went on to honorably serve our nation in the United States Army.

Emily Beam Miller, 83, of Atglen, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the Laurel Center in Hamburg, PA surrounded by her family. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Charles Henry Miller and Sara Killinger Miller.

Emily was an area resident most of her life and a resident of Atglen for the last 22 years. She attended the former Scott High School in Coatesville, PA. Down through the years, she was employed at different businesses including the MT. Vernon Inn, Penguin Industries, the Dog House in Shillington and Brecknock Elementary School in Mohnton.

Josephine M. Taylor, 90, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in Chester, PA. She was the wife of the late John F. Taylor III, who passed away in 2014. She is survived by siblings: Anthony Volpe, John (Jo-Anne) Volpe, Mary Volpe, Frank (Josephine) Volpe, and Felix Volpe (deceased). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jacob Anton Cihak, 79 (Jake, Jack), of East Fallowfield, passed away on January 19, 2024 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA. He was the beloved husband of Gail Ann Jadlocki Cihak with whom he shared over 56 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Jacob L. Cihak and Theresa Bittenbinder Cihak.

Clara Mae Baxter, 94, of Elwyn, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Mercy LIFE Valley View. Born in Malvern, she was the daughter of the late William James Clardy and Lillian (Kearney) Clardy.

She was a graduate of the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf and was later employed and retired in the Laundry Department at the Coatesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Sharon L. Walton, 49, formerly of West Chester, PA, passed away suddenly at her home on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.  Born in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of Kay E. Moore Walton and the late Norman F. Walton Jr.

Sharon was a graduate of Coatesville Area High School, proud class of 1992 and worked for BanCorp Bank of Delaware and TD Bank North. She managed staff in the loan apps department.
