Donald O. LaMar, 72, of East Earl, formerly of Westwood, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Norma Jean Collins LaMar, with whom he shared 37 years of marriage.

Born in Westwood, he was the son of the late Mary A. Guersky LaMar and Robert B. LaMar. He was employed as a Police Officer for 15 years, serving in several Chester Co. Departments, and had most recently worked for the Pennsylvania Turnpike at the Devault Maintenance Shed, retiring 10 years ago.

Donald was a talented and creative artist, who enjoyed painting, woodworking, building and remodeling.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two beloved children: Scott E. LaMar, husband of Lori, of Elizabethtown and Lynn LaMar Bubb, wife of Charles, of Duncannon, PA; four grandchildren; and siblings, Robert LaMar of Phelan, CA, Larry LaMar of LaMirada, CA, Doris Darlington of West Caln, PA, Margery Watson of Millsboro, DE, and Lorraine Dorsheimer of East Fallowfield, PA. Donald was predeceased by his sister, Virginia O'Donnell and brother Bruce LaMar.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held at the Funeral Home from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Interment will be private.
