Norman F. Lonas Sr., 83, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, in West Chester, PA. He was the companion of Sharon A. Porter for almost 18 years. Born in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late Edgar E. and Catherine E. (Golightly) Lonas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine N. Lonas who passed away in 2005.
Norman was an area resident all his life. He enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles. He worked as a mechanic for Morelli/ Brian Hoskins Ford in Thorndale, PA. He was past president of Piston Poppers Raceway in Parkesburg for many years. He loved spending time at his bay house on the Chesapeake Bay in Earlville, MD.
Besides his companion, Sharon, he is survived by his children, Robert E. (Pauline) Yeagley of Oxford, PA, and Norman F. (Susan) Lonas Jr. of Coatesville, grandchildren;Melissa (Alex) Jenkins, Nikki (Charles) Garress, Steffanie (John) Truitt, and Kayla Lonas, five great-grandchildren; Lily, Emmett, Wyatt, Tucker, and Hadley, a sister, Betty Lawrence, many nieces and nephews, and furry friends, Piston, Roxy, Trixie, and Winter. Besides his wife he was preceded in death by siblings, Catherine Marsh, Barbara Mellinger, Peggy Simms, Olin Lonas, Bobby Lonas, and Buck Lonas.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. from the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, with visitation starting at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
