Daniel V. Fitzpatrick, Jr., 75, of East Fallowfield, PA, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Charlotte C. Schmids Fitzpatrick with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Daniel V. Fitzpatrick, Sr. and Theresa C. McGrail Fitzpatrick.

Dan was born and raised in Massachusetts and was a graduate of  Stoughton High School. He then proudly served in the US Marine Corps as a bugler  with Marine Drum and Bugle Corps in Washington, DC  from 1967 to 1970.

He continued his education receiving an associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology  in Boston, Massachusetts. He was employed, for 35 years, by Verizon in Philadelphia.  After retirement, he continued to keep himself busy with various jobs, projects and music throughout the years.

Dan continued playing the horn and was a member of various Drum and Bugle Corps including the Reading Buccaneers, Archer Epler, and Yankee Rebels.  He was also a member of the Chester County Marine Corps League and proudly volunteered to play Taps for Veterans funerals throughout the area.  Dan had attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Coatesville, PA.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two children; Sharray Finnegan and husband Robert of Glen Mills, PA and Daniel V. Fitzpatrick, III and his wife Ellen of Phoenixville, PA, two grandchildren, Megan Finnegan and Christopher Finnegan, and four siblings; Anne Hepworth of Sandwich, Massachusetts, Paul Fitzpatrick of Stoughton, Massachusetts, Marie Garrity of Wareham, Massachusetts and Joseph Fitzpatrick of Virginia. He was preceded in death by one brother Steve Fitzpatrick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at  Saint Peter Catholic Church, 2835 Manor Road, Coatesville, PA 19320. Visitation and viewing at the church from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM. Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery, Coatesville.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg, PA.

Charlotte:  RIP to a very good friend.  I still remember when we were on the bus ride with the rebels and you ask me if I would let this young man to change seats with.  And the rest is history. I will send prayers  to you and your wonderful family.  Sorry for your loss.

Danny was an amazing person! I always looked up to him. I am very thankful for those years that my mom and I had the chance to play in the hornline with him. My heart goes out to your family. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear my friend, fellow Drum Corps bugler passed .He will always be remembered and is joining a Hugh group of talented musicians up there in Heaven ,.May Danny Rest In Peace and be remembered by friends of Archie,Yankee Rebels and buglers Hall of Fame ....Tom

I was sorry to hear of Danny’s passing. I knew Danny when we were very young, for me, around 14-15 or so. He taught me a lot on the guitar and I have always remembered him as being kind, and patient. When he entered the Marines, we wrote for a short time, but, he was so much older than me, (4 years I think) and I was still in school. He was a good man! God bless all of his family.
