John P. Ruczhak
John P. Ruczhak, 75, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, in Philadelphia, PA. He was the husband of Anne Radcliff Ruczhak for over 53 years. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Kurenda Ruczhak.
John was an area resident all his life and was a 1966 graduate of Coatesville High School. He was a member of Holy Ghost Orthodox Church in Coatesville and also attended Penningtonville Presbyterian Church in Atglen, PA. He was financial secretary for the church and for Union USWA Local 1164. He worked at the former Lukens Steel Company at more recently for LNP Company
A lifelong golfer, he played often, had been the captain of the Lukens golf team and continued playing as long as he could, most joyfully with his entire family who all took up the game.
His happy place was always on the front porch of their home. From that spot John and Anne became the hub of the neighborhood. No one passed by without stopping for a greeting, and update, or a tidbit of local gossip.
From that porch, and in the home, there was a constant soundtrack. Elvis Presley. John’s favorite through his whole life, was played everyday. Rock n roll 6 days a week but, always gospel on Sunday. He listened around the clock, sometimes at volumes that brought great frustration to Anne.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children; Michele Ruczhak of Coatesville, David (Jenny Kazarian) Ruczhak of Exton, PA, and Brandon (Ashley) Bennett of Mifflintown, PA, and three grandsons; Drew, Matthew, and Derek Bennett. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Ruczhak Jr. and sister-in-law, Barbara Ruczhak.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 12 noon, from the Penningtonville Presbyterian Church, 406 Main St., Atglen, PA 19310, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the adjacent church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the church at the above address or to Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, 392 Charles St. Coatesville, PA, 19320.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, PA. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com
Condolences
My friend, John, aka “Rock”
Ann, Michelle, David, Brandon- Hard to believe Rock is gone to be with the Lord. We were best friends all through N. Brandywine Jr and Coatesville Sr High. Please don’t believe all the stories he told you. Ann, you may know a few that shouldn’t be repeated at all. We haven’t been as close since I moved to NC but he will always be with me. I hope God has a good sense of humor. God’s Blessing to all of you and your families.
My deepest condolences to all

A friend indeed
To Ann and family. John will be sorely missed. We remember all of our times at the band competitions and football games. There will never be anyone that says "Yo" like John always did with us. What good times we had!
Bob being a classmate, he too is very sad to hear about John's passing. Know that you and your whole family are in our prayers. We're right here if you need us. Love you. Pat and Bob

My condolences.
I offer my sincere condolences - I remember him well. He was one of the good guys.
An uplifting personality
I met John as a fellow dialysis patient. John always had a positive (and sometimes resigned and accepting) attitude; despite his ailments, he never really complained and took everything in stride. He had a great sense of humor and was a cheery influence among the patients; his presence was uplifting. He will never be forgotten.
