65 Years
East Fallowfield Township, Chester Co., PA

David John Martin, 65, of East Fallowfield Township, PA, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, September 3, 2023.  He was the husband of Teresa Y. Rogers Martin for over 37 years.  Born in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late John E. "Jack" and Edna Rendall "Tootles" Martin.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Jonathan (Jennifer) Martin of Chester Springs, PA, and Joshua (Kelsey) Martin of Parkesburg, PA.

David was a graduate of Octorara High School and York College.  He was newly retired after a career in quality control at Container Research.

Known as “Buck” by many friends and family, he was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved spending time outdoors. He loved all sports, especially following and supporting his son’s passions which were baseball and horse riding. He spent many years coaching Josh’s baseball teams, and never missed a game of his up through his adult league years. He followed Jonathan’s equestrian endeavors from a young age, and continued to support the career he has built to this day.

But above all, he loved his family and friends. A loving husband, to his wife Terri, enjoyed traveling together and enjoying the outdoors with their 3 dogs. A devoted father, to his two hard working sons, Jonathan and Josh, who he was so proud of. No matter what, if you called him, you knew he would be there especially for his family.

He was loved by all who knew him, and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made in David's memory to the Modena Fire Company, 5 N. Brandywine Ave, Coatesville, PA  19320.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com

Condolences

I wanted to express my deep and sincere condolences to the entire Martin family for the loss of Dave.  I worked with Dave for many, many years at Container Research. He was always a pleasant, warm, engaging co-worker who did a wonderful job using both his skills and his common sense.  I am heart-broken that he will not get to completely enjoy the fruits of retirement.  Rest in Peace Dave.

I want to express my deepest sympathies to the Martin family on sudden passing of Dave.
Dave was the best colleague a person can ask for and a supporting member of our Quality Team at Container Research.
Outside work, during the past 11 years, Dave and I shared many outdoor memories, including encounters with deer and beautiful nature.
We recently experienced an unforgettable carriage ride with him and his family. Dave was a kind and dedicated person that loved his family, friends and colleagues at work. My prayers and thoughts will always be there with you and your family.

I was stunned when Mr. Verdegeem gave me the news. I moved with my daughter to Malvern in 1997 when she was 1. Throughout the next 5/6 years, the Delaware and PA opening season trout days were spent with "Mingus" and Bill. Mingus was an expert fisherman. The three of us bow hunted together and although he was not an expert at it, the memories made will be cherished. My deepest sympathy for all family! He is looking at us now from that trout stream in the sky. As we would be fishing, he would just look over, and say to me, Remember, "It's a long way, to the top ...if you want to Rock and Roll. I still am heart sick. Again, deepest sympathy.

I am so sorry for your loss in the sudden passing of Dave.
Dave and I worked in the Quality Department at Container Research. He would always call me Momma. He was funny, caring and very knowledgeable.
We had alot of laughs and I got him listening to Country music that he wasn't crazy about at first. He will tell me a story about a fishing trip, hunting trip, his vacations and especially the Whip or riding his motorcycle. He loved his family!! He was very proud of Jonathan and Joshua and especially his wife Terry. You were not just my coworker you where my friend. May you rest in peace and you will be missed by many. Dear Terri, Jonathan & Josh.  The words are hard to find to express how shocked and sad I was to hear the tragic and sudden loss of David and Dad.  Having had the pleasure of being Dave, Terri and the boys neighbor for 30 years, the memories are endless.  I was so lucky to watch the happiness in Dave's eyes and heart when the boys were born and to watch his pride as they grew and became part of both of thier

Although I only worked with Dave at Container Research for a couple of years, it was like I knew him forever. This was because he had a special kindness about him that made you feel like you were a life-long friend. He was one of the most humble, funny, laid- back, kindhearted people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I cannot express in words how much he will be missed. Sending love and prayers to his family as you start this new journey to find strength and peace during this most difficult time.
