Brenda Lee Shindle, 70, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023, in West Chester, PA. She was the wife of the late Kenneth H. Shindle who passed away in 2006. They had shared over 37 years of marriage before his passing. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Annabelle Hoffman Work.
Brenda was an area resident all her life. She had attended the Coatesville Schools and worked as a waitress in various restaurants and was a member of the Parkesburg United Methodist Church. She was a lifetime member of the Parkesburg VFW, a member of the American Legion, and enjoyed playing bingo and bowling. She also adored and loved all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Elaine Shindle of Pomeroy, Ronald (Amy) Shindle of Coatesville, and William (Erin) Shindle of Kennett Square, grandchildren, Kayla, Sonney, Allison, Gracie, Bailey, and Lexi, great-grandchildren, Faith, Paisley, Remi, Sila, and Nellie, and siblings, Midge Turner of Paradise, PA, Linda (Gerald) Ranck of Pomeroy, PA, Randy Work (Jeannie) of Gap, PA and sister-in-law Darlene (Harold) Hess of Millsboro DE along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. from the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, PA. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Upper Octorara Cemetery.

To all of Brenda's family , I am so sorry to hear about Brenda ! I have known her since the kids were in school , as we did a lot of volunteer work at the schools ! She always made me laugh ! Always had that twinkle in her eye , never knew what she was going to say next . She always ask about my sons , when are they coming to visit , what they were doing etc. She knew everybody and everybody knew her ! I am going to miss her , and our weekly or bi - weekly phone chats ! Brenda was a giver , she would give you the shirt off her back ! I am still in shock ! I know you are up there dancing !
