Gregory G. Wagner

Gregory G. Wagner, 71, of Parkesburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 29th, 2021 under the care of Hospice and Community Care in Mt. Joy surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Deborah Wagner, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.  

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Greg was the son of Herbert F. Wagner of Salem, S.C. and the late Jean Sue Wagner.  

Greg served honorably from 1969 to 1972 with the US Navy on the USS Harwood.  He loved his country and was proud of his service; a true American patriot.

He retired as a machinist from Palace Packaging Machines Inc. in Thorndale.  

Greg always put others before himself.  He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, especially his Harley's and enjoyed supporting his son Steve's racing.  He was a member and volunteered his time at Pennsylvania Piston Poppers Motorcycle Club.  Greg was a mechanical genius, who had the ability to fix or engineer nearly anything he put his mind to.

Greg also enjoyed flowers and gardening.  He was an avid fisherman.  He loved to eat especially buffets and ice cream; and he also enjoyed his miniature horses, and dogs, especially his girls, Riley and Emma.  

Greg's faith grew over the past year as he read his Bible and devotionals.

He is survived, in addition to his wife and father, by his three children: Heather Gilroy of Cecilton, Maryland, Lauri Wagner, lifelong partner of Derek Barber, of Parkesburg, and Stephen Wagner, husband of Amy, of Paradise; grandchildren, Dylan Barber, Grace Wagner, Ava Barber, and Miles Wagner; and his brother, Neil Wagner of Salem, S.C.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 9th, 2021 at 11 AM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, PA with a viewing from 9 AM until the time of the service.  Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
