Ruth M. Hensel
Ruth M. Hensel, 92, of Coatesville, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020, at the Hickory House Nursing Home after her long battle with severe dementia and recent complications from Covid-19. She was the widow of Albert J. Hensel and the daughter of Leroy and Sarah Moffit Kochel.
A Downingtown and Coatesville area resident her entire life, Ruth obtained her cosmetology license after high school and enjoyed working in local beauty shops. After marriage, she devoted herself to home and family. She loved gardening and spent most summers attending to her large vegetable and flower gardens. She was adventurous in trying new projects over the years such as making homemade potato chips, bottling homemade root beer and canning various fruits and vegetables from her gardens. She enjoyed many trips to Florida to visit her mother and father after their retirement.
She is survived by three children: Deborah Panning, wife of Henry, of Willow Street, PA, David Hensel, husband of Carol, of Winter Springs, FL and Dale Hensel, husband of Nancy of Parkesburg, PA; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, Dennis Hensel.
The family is very appreciative for all of the physical and emotional care provided by Hickory House nursing staff and the team for the seven years that Ruth was a resident there. There are not enough words to express the care and comfort that they have provided. The family also thanks the Asera Care Hospice staff, especially nurse Michelle who provided much support even with the Covid-19 restrictions.
The Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020, at 10 AM at Fairview Cemetery, 786 Oak St, Coatesville, PA 19320.
In order to protect those at-risk, please wear a face mask and practice social distancing. If you have trouble standing for an extended period of time, please consider bringing a lawn chair as seating will be limited.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com

She will be greatly missed
It was a great privilege to care for your Mom for so many years. She often mentioned her children's names when she was in a talkative mood. She was a great character. I am not alone in saying that your Mom will be greatly missed at Hickory House. You were a wonderful family to work with in providing care for your Mom. Praying for peace and comfort to your family.
Thoughts and prayers, Julie L. LPN
