Praying
i heard about John’s passing. I have fond memories of getting to know John at Kennett Higj School/ we graduated the same year. I am praying for his family’s Comfort and peace.
Childhood friend
Dear Sue, Michael and Mary Pat, I was so saddened to hear of John's passing. You lived up the street from me when you lived in Parkesburg and I considered John one of my closest friends. I fondly remember sitting in your basement watching Star Trek, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and playing with Major Matt Mason dolls with John and Michael. John was a year younger than me, but was always so smart. When you moved to Kennett it was quite a blow. Friendship with John was very influential in my life and I feel that I became a scientist because of the outlook that John had given me, even in those early years. I am so sorry that I missed the service on Saturday, as I wanted to tell you this, in person. I give my most heart-felt condolences to your family. John will definitely be missed. With fond regards, Mark Parcells.
So sorry for your loss
I just read of John’s passing and realized I had just recently been thinking about the Gain kids as former KHS classmates and of your wonderful mom, Mrs. Gain, a one time teacher of mine at KMS. Although John was a few years older, I remember John from around school as being a very intelligent and affable young man. I am not surprised to learn of his success as a physician but am surprised and saddened by the loss of a person such as he in this world. Bless John, those he loved and those who loved him.
Med school classmate
I read about John’s passing in the Alumni news from Hahneman (now Drexel). John was a classmate and a friend. What I remember most about him was his kindness and great sense of humor and his ability to make you laugh even in the most stressful or miserable situation. People just enjoyed being around him. He was always with another classmate, Scott, and the two of the were always playing practical jokes on each other. Med school was 4 years of pretty stressful times, but having classmates like John made it even fun sometimes. I’m very sorry for your loss. I remember him as being a great guy.
