Roland Franklin Beale, 79, of Downingtown, died at his home on Sunday, April 22, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Myra Jean Helsten Beale who died in 2007. They shared 44 years of marriage together. Born in Downingtown, he was the son of the late Franklin and Gladys Shofstall Beale.
Roland was a Downingtown resident all his life a 1956 graduate of the Downingtown High School. He proudly served in the US Army from 1961 to 1963.
He was employed for 50 years by the Dopaco Company of Downingtown retiring in 2009 as a tool and die maker. Roland was a member of the Romansville United Methodist Church, the NRA, Bird Club, Bee Club and the Antique Car Club.
He is survived by four children; Eric R. Beale and wife Yelena of Mohnton, PA, David K. Beale of Downingtown, Belinda Howerton and husband Allen of Archer, FL and Monica Beale of Downingtown, seven grandchildren; Luke Beale, Ethan Kentzel, Frank Balla, Lindsay Maloney, Ian Howerton, Noah Howerton and Paul Howerton, one sister Vivian Strouth of Downingtown and his long term friend Linda Kiefer. He was preceded in death by his friend Richard Meyers.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the Romansville United Methodist Church, 1859 West Strasburg Road, Coatesville, PA, 19320 followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing which will be held at the church from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Roland's name to the Romansville United Methodist Church at the above address.
