Betty Jane Garris, 88, of Parkesburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Ralph Thomas Garris, Jr., with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.
Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late Edna (Bailey) and Henry Grigsby. She was a 1947 graduate of Scott High School. She worked with her husband and family at Garris Garage of Parkesburg.
Betty belonged to the Parkesburg Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chris-Penn Chapter No. 455. She was a part of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and the VFW.
Betty is survived by her two children: Ralph Thomas Garris III, husband of Kimberly Hammond, of Parkesburg, Lisa Jayne Myer, wife of H. Paul Myers, of Parkesburg; and step daughter, Mildred Garris of Parkesburg; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, Charles H. "Chuck" Powers; and sister, Madeline Herr.
The Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, February 17th at 2:00 PM at Hephzibah Baptist Cemetery of East Fallowfield with Pastor Mark Beideman officiating.
