Sarah Margaret Bailey Wiley, 87, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Hospice and Community Care Center in Mount Joy, PA after 3 months in her residence under the care of her daughter, Janet and Hospice Nurses. Born in Atglen, she was the daughter of the late Horace A. and Anna Mae Carpenter Bailey.
Sarah was a Lancaster resident most of her life. She was employed as a waitress for 28 years at the Deluxe Diner in Lancaster, PA now known as Neptune Diner on Prince St. and other numerous restaurants during her lifetime. She also had a stand for 35 years at Roots Country Market, Manheim, PA known as Sally Wiley's Mostly Paper.
Sarah had a veinous disease most of her life and was unable to drive. She kept close contact with friends and family thru her card therapy in sending love messages for all occasions.
She is survived by two daughters; Janet L. Duffy and husband Michael of Washington Boro and Dottie M. VanAulen and husband Thomas of Lititz, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one brother Horace A. Bailey, Jr. of Christiana, PA. She was preceded in death by a daughter Rose M. Musser and one brother Clyde H. Bailey.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 11am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Glen Run Cemetery, Atglen, PA. Viewing and visitation from 10 to 11am. Memorial donations may be made in Sarah's memory to Hospice Community Care of Lancaster County, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.

So very sorry to hear of Sarah's passing. Sarah and I met about five years ago at the Wound Care center. We kept in contact through cards and letters through December 2016. She was a pure joy to know. I will miss writing to her and hearing from her. My condolences to your family.
