Rest in Peace, Bro. Barr.
Calvin lived five houses up the block from my Grandmother in Parkesburg when I was a lad, and Sherrie was a year ahead of me in school and Susan a year younger. His elderly Aunt Myra Montgomery lived right across the street from my Grandmother and Calvin and his family were VERY good to her. He had a green 1949 Chevrolet sedan and he and Delno Large rode to work together in it to American Hardware every day. I could always tell by the sound of that old car when Calvin and Delno were headed up the street past our house in it - he shifted from second to high gear right at our eastern property line. Sadly I lost track of him after they moved to Wagontown in the mid-1970s. A life VERY well lived.
Dear Susan and Sherri and
Dear Susan and Sherri and family,
Your Dad was a wonderful man! I have such fond memories of Kelly playing Santa at Olivet during our "Breakfast with Santa". He was always so kind and patience with all the children and always brought candy canes to give each and everyone. He always came through when I asked for his help! Myself, and I'm sure many others always enjoyed talking to your Dad at church. Those memories will keep him close in all hearts.
With sincere sympathy,
Mindy Patton
