Warren K. Mears, 88, of Honey Brook, formerly of Springfield, died on Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Bryn Mawr Terrace. He was the husband of Betty Ashman Mears with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Melfa, VA, he was the son of the late Spencer and Maggie Kellam Mears.
Warren served in the US Navy during WWII in the European Theater. He was a self employed insurance adjuster with Mear's Appraisal Service. Warren and his wife had lived in Springfield, Delaware County for 58 years and had moved to the Tel-Hai Retirement Community five years ago.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by one daughter, Patricia M. Evans, wife of James Baer of Gap and two grandsons Jonathon and Patrick Evans. He was preceded in death by a brother Spencer Mears.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 11:00 am from the Tel-Hai Chapel, 1200 Tel-Hai Circle, Honey Brook, PA . Visitation from 10 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
