Sara Jane Smith

Sara Jane Smith, 78, of Quarryville, formerly of the Coatesville area, passed away at her home on Monday, January 24, 2011. She was the widow of the late William F. Smith and her first husband the late Donald K. Matthews. Born in Westwood, she was the daughter of the late Walter C. and Florence Beekley Holbrook.

Sara was a 1951 graduate of Scott High School. She was employed, down through the years, at the former Capitol Bakery, the Coatesville VA Medical Center, the Trinity Episcopal Church of Coatesville and by Len Deininger, Esq.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Coatesville.



She is survived, by two daughters; Dona Antonelli and Katrina, wife of Rick Miller all of Quarryville, one granddaughter Alyssa Antonelli also of Quarryville and one sister Lois Hanna of Kennett Square. She was preceded in death by her brother Walter Raymond Holbrook.



Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 11:00 am from the Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd, 107 S. 17th Ave. Coatesville, PA followed by interment at the Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer, PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the church from 10:00 am to the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or an Animal Rescue Shelter of your choice.
