Herman H. Schapansky, 83, of Atglen, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was married 62 years to his beloved wife Margaret "Betty" (Miller) Schapansky.
Born in Bird-in-Hand, he was son of Agnes (Neustadter) and Herman D. Schapansky.
He retired in 1989 at the former Luken's Steel as a Supervisor. Herman attended the Parkesburg Methodist Church.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his beloved children: Carol Brimmeier, husband Mathew, of Colorado, Gary Schapansky, wife Tammy, of South Carolina, Deborah Reed, husband Brent, of Atglen, Bette Jo Bove, husband Steve, of Phillipsburg, and Robert Schapansky, wife Lynne, of Lancaster; ten grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and sister Elizabeth Harper of Honey Brook.
He was predeceased by siblings David Schapansky and Tina Neufeld.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 10 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Nottingham Missionary Baptist Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 9 until 10 AM.
Memorial donations can be made to the Parkesburg United Methodist Church or the Brandywine River Valley Home, Health and Hospice.
