Frances Lee McEwing, 91, of Pomeroy, died at her home on Saturday, December 29, 2012. She was the widow of Harry "Bud" McEwing who died in 2001. Born in Mountain City, TN, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mae Arnold Phillippi.
Frances was an area resident most of her life and was employed by Patti-Tone Sewing Factory retiring in 1986.
She is survived by five children; G. Katherine Whitehill of Bear Lake, MN, Cecil W. Gentry of Coatesville, Dorothy E. Chapman of Melbourne, FL, W. James McEwing of Pomeroy and Deborah L. Read of Kalispell, MO, nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and two sisters; Peggy Sissler of Westminster, MD and Della Reece of Ft. Walton Beach, FL. She was preceded in death by one son Melvin, "JR" McEwing, four sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg followed by interment at St. John's Cemetery in Compass, PA. Viewing from 10 to 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Pomeroy Methodist Church, P.O. Box 68, Pomeroy, PA 19367 or Neighbor Hospice, 400 E. Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380.

We are so sorry Debbie for your loss. Our prayers so out to you and your family. Sorry we can't make the funeral but Mike n I are both not doin so good. Mike is walking with a cane now. He has deterating arthritis in his bad hip . He needs a hip replacement but we have no insurance. His dissability finally went through but with no Health insurance for a year.Anyhow I had a heart attach in July n had 3 steints placed in my heart. Im doing real good though. Please try to come see us or get in touch with us. Cloyce sends her symphany also. God Bless you always.
