Howard G. Mowday, Sr., 85, of Honey Brook, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. He was the husband of the late Sarah Lorraine McCoy Mowday. Born in West Caln Township, Chester County, he was the son of the late Sanford and Ethel Leslie Mowday.

A lifelong resident of Chester County, Howard operated Howard Mowday & Son Painting. Down through the years, he also worked for Downingtown Ironworks and Brandywine Metal Fabricators where he had served as Union President with both firms. Lastly, Howard was employed by AAA in maintenance at the Lukens Arc Building.

He is survived by four sons; Gary of Coatesville, Dennis and wife Sherry of Gap, Raymond and wife Jackie of West Caln and Howard "Buck" Jr. and wife Verna of Ronks. 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren and three siblings; Nancy Umile of Wagontown, John Mowday of Sadsburyville and Patricia Mowday of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and one grandson Gary Mowday.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 11:00am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, Pa. followed by interment at the Fairview Cemetery in Coatesville. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing from 10:00am to the time of the service.
