Samuel A. Trego, 78, of Downingtown, formerly of Coatesville, died on Friday, December 25, 2009 at the Brandywine Hospital following a short illness. He was the husband of Joan M. Hoskins Trego with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Clarence and Henrietta Gottier Trego.
He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Sam was employed as an auto technician for more then 40 years, having worked for Weaver Motors of Coatesville and Malcolm Wright Buick of Thorndale retiring in 1998.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by one son Michael S. Trego of Butler, PA, one grandson Matthew J. Trego also of Butler, three children from a previous marriage, two brothers; John and James Trego both of Coatesville and two sisters; Margaret Curry of Coatesville and Henrietta McCreary of Gap. He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 11:00am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA folllowed by interment at the Fairview Cemetery in Coatesville. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing from 10am to 11am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sam's memory to the National Kidney Foundation, 111 S Independence Mall E Ste 411
