Laura M. Baker, 75, of Coatesville, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2009 at the Brandywine Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Robert E. Baker with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Theressa Pennington Stanton.

Laura was a life long area resident and a 1953 graduate of the Scott High School. She continued her education at the Brooklyn Jewish Hospital graduating as a registered nurse. Mrs. Baker was employed with the Brandywine Hospital and the former Coatesville Hospital in the maternity ward retiring in 1995 with 38 years of service. She was also member of the Coatesville Senior Citizens Center.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by three children; Steven E. Baker and wife Patricia of Lynchburg, VA, Tracy M., wife of William Johnson of Downingtown and Angela L., wife of Arnel Castro of East Fallowfield, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, three brothers; Robert Stanton of Chattanooga, TN, Lionel and Sherwood Stanton both of Coatesville and one sister, Elizabeth Jones of Kennett Square. She was preceded in death by three brothers; James Henry, Harry and Frederick Stanton.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 11:00am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing from 10am to the time of the service. Interment will be private.

To Angie and all of the family,
