James (Jimmy) E. Pierson, Jr.

James (Jimmy) Edward Pierson, Jr., 74, of Lancaster met Jesus, his Savior, face to face on Sunday, July 1, 2012. His last days were spent at Hospice of Lancaster County in Mt. Joy along with family and friends. Born in Washington, D.C., he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Anne, and two daughters: Holly Barlow, wife of Dewey Barlow, and Shelly Pierson. He is also survived by three granddaughters: Gabriella, Rachael, and Janae, and sister and brother-in-law Diane and Christopher Sheffe of Milford, DE.

Jimmy was a member of The Door Christian Fellowship and The Worship Center, both of which he loved dearly. He founded the House of His Creation in 1972 (a housing program for pregnant and single parents) and Loving & Caring in 1984 (an international ministry to the fatherless). He and his wife, Anne, have loved and housed over 200 young pregnant women over the years, and now have the blessing of seeing the third generation of those women.

Jim's greatest desire in life was to be a dad, and (in his final years ) was not to cross the finish line of life with his Jesus flag dragging on the ground, but with it flying high.  He has done all this and more.

A viewing will be held at The Worship Center, 2384 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 2 to 4:00 pm and 6 to 8:00 pm. His glorious homegoing service will be held at The Worship Center on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 11:00 am with a viewing one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Jimmy by giving to Loving & Caring (219A Witmer Road, Lancaster, PA 17602) and/or House of His Creation (PO Box 266, Akron, PA 17501).

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg, PA. Online condolences may be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com

I treasure the time that I met Jim & Anne at the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church in Parkesburg. Jim & Ann truly had a gift with young mothers. Bob & I appreciated their support when we were becoming young .
parents. You have touched so many lives. God Bless You.

Dear Anne, Holly,Dewey, Shelly, and all,

While my husband, Joel, and I grieve for all of you, I cannot imagine anyone having a richer treasure in heaven than Jim. One of Anne's many pearls of wisdom I've remembered through the years is this: Anne's aging grandfather once told her, "It's not that I don't love all of you. It's just that I have more of an investment on the other side."

The way all of you have lived your lives sacrificially for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ can lead to only one conclusion...Jim invested his entire life in the Kingdom, and what has awaited him can only be magnificent.

Anne and family,
Such a sad time. I know Jim is where we all want to be, but he will be missed by everyone who is still waiting to join the Lord in His kingdom. I don't know anyone who could make us laugh and smile the way Jim did. And his faitfulness to his Lord, the family God gave him, and all the girls he showed fatherly love to over the years will long be remembered. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

He was a real friend to my deceased brother, who had emotional problems.
He could not have had a person, that did not like him. He was so much fun.
We will not forget him. We extend our sympahties to his Anne and the family.
With lots of love

Dear Ann:

I had the priveledge of meeting you and Jim at Black Rock (weekend retreat) and also @ CFO in Capon Springs. I have Jim's CD of his testimony when you two followed Jesus' call to help the woman of this world. Thank you Lord, for allowing me to be ministered too by your son, Jimmy and Ann. Amen and Amen. I look forward to the day when we will all be together in Heaven. That will be some reunion.

God Bless You Ann and Family. The Lord be with you during this time of grief, knowing that you will be together again. "Oh what joy to behold when we are in your presence again".

With Love,
Sarah DeBerardinis <><

Dear Anne -
I was inspired by Jim's legacy with the words of Steve Green's song - May all who come behind us find us faithful, May the fire of our devotion light the way, May the footprints that we leave, lead them to believe, and the lives we live inspire them to obey. May our thoughts & prayers hold you up & the memories bring joy. Wow, the amazingness of all of the lives chanaged by Jesus through your walk ,including us. Sending love your way. Gail and June

Dear Anne and family,

We were sorry to hear of Jim's passing, yet we celebrate his life with you and the family. The legacy he leaves is a blessing to so many people. It has been decades since we first met the both of you and we have loved the hearts that you have for the Lord and others. Our time is short on earth compared to eternity in heaven. Praise God that he was a child of God! He will missed.

Love,
Harold and Joni Godshall

Dear Anne and family,
I am sorry for your loss, but rejoice in the knowledge he is home and enjoying eternity with His Lord and Savior. One quote that Jimmy made from time to time that always has stuck with me is: "Thank you, Lord, that you have given me something to do in Your Kingdom." He sure did much in the Kingdom of God and we all have benefitted.
Grace and peace in the days ahead, Nyla Martin
