Evelyn M. Gable

Evelyn Margaret Gable, of Honey Brook, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Tel-Hai Retirement Community surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Wilbert H. "Webb" Gable with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Mary Burkholder Barker.



Evelyn was an area resident all her life and a 1947 graduate of the Scott High School in Coatesville. She was employed throughtout her life as a cook for the Lukens Steel Co., Tel-Hai Retirement Community and Hickory House of Honey Brook. She was a member of the Wagontown Union Chapel.



She is survived, in addition to her husband, by five children; Loretta, wife of Bill Englerth of West Caln, Richard Gable of Elverson and his fiance Leslie Leary, Deborah Gable of Coatesville, Patricia G., wife of Mark Boyer of Elverson and David Gable and wife Selina of Pequea, 10 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one sister Mildred Mercer of Coatesville. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.



Funeral services will be private. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Tel-Hai Care Assurance Fund, P.O. Box 190 Honey Brook, Pa. 19344.
