Dear Eva,
What beautiful memories we have of Bob. Such a special man for other men to look up to. While we rejoice with Bob that what he once imagined, he now has full sight. Our prayers are with you and your family as you grieve his loss. He was a wonderful example to so many of us.

My friend....
To my long time friend Carol Hershey and family.
As we have discussed several times, I remember your father as a pillar in the Lincoln University community. He touched many lives. He was kind, sincere and devoted. Fondly and lovingly, I remember my mother calling us to clean up after playing outside on a long hot summer day. My sisters and I would put on our Sunday clothes grab our Bibles and dash to the corner of Baltimore Pike and Village road. Patiently we watched and waited for the Hersheys to come around the corner to pick us up for Vaction Bible School. While VBS was character building and paved the way for a great foundation for a lifetime, being pick up by Mr. Hershey was the joy. Thank you for sharing your father and family with us. Mr. Hershey will be missed but never forgotten.
Beloved Friend
Friends are friends forever, see you in glory Bob Hershey... Man of God, you reflected Christ in deeds and your sense of humor set even strangers at home. We will remember you fondly.

Hershey Bob
Born & raised in West Grove occasionally found me at Jennersville Hospital for the bumps and breaks and a surgery that kids often go through.
Almost every time, whether it was in x-ray or on the floor, the good Lord placed me in Mr. Hershey's care. His patience and calm demeanor meant a great deal and provided me peace during those anxious times. I later got to work by his side when I volunteered with the West Grove Ambulance as we transfered patients to that facility and I saw what his kindness meant to others in need.He was a true asset to the hospital and the people that came there for treatment.
I was only one of hundreds of people Mr. Hershey crossed paths with, but I do know beyond a doubt that God has now called one of his angels home.
Sorrow
Hershey family,
Bob was a man who impacted me over many years. He, and Mrs. Hershey, welcomed many people into their lives and gave unselfishly to others, and their family. I give God the glory for this humble man.

Deepest Condolences ~
In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond;
And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring.
Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity.
Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd when he stands before the king whose hand is to be laid upon him in honour.
Is the shepherd not joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark of the king?
Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling?
For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Thinking of you
As you are thinking about all of the things your husband and Dad shared, he will forever live on in your hearts. I'm thinking about all of you as you share the many ways he was special to you. Take care, Loretta.

To the Hershey family: I am very sorry to hear of Mr. Hershey's passing. I worked for him and Mrs. Hershey years ago. I loved my work on the farm and loved being friends with Mr. and Mrs. Hershey. Mr. Hershey was a special man and Christian leader to me.
My thoughts and prayers are being sent to you. I know what it is to lose parents. I lost my dad 8 years ago and just lost my mother last week on March 4.
My deepest sympathy to all of you.

Bob
Our deepest sympathies to each and everyone you. Both Chrysi and I had the fortune to have worked with Bob at SCCMC/JRH during his tenure there. He was an extrememly compassionate caregiver and all around fun loving man. Whether it was his infectious smile or kind words he would make everyone feel better just to be in his presence. I believe that anyone who ever had the opportunity to meet, or spend anytime at all with him, knows what an exceptional human being he was. We all loved Bob very much, and know in our hearts that he is watching over each and everyone of you from his new home above. Celebrate his life, and cherish the memories for the rest of your lives. I know we will.

Dear Eva and family,
My sympthy is with you in the passing of Robert, beloved husband and father. I would love to be with you all at the funeral but I don't have a way and I really don't get out much due to having to use a walker and lack of strength. But my thoughts and prayers are with you. It would be good to see your siblings Eva and maybe Emma will come and also call me. That would be great. I don't know if there is anyone here at Landis Homes or who else I would know that could tell me about the funeral. On second thought I guess I could call Lydia if I don't hear from Emma. May the Lord comfort and strengthen you with His peace during this difficult time.
Love and prayers, Betty Denlinger

Mrs. Hershey and family, I am sorry for your loss and wanted to send my deepest condolences to you and your family. As it turns out, I received the information about Bob's passing too late to attend the services. I really wish I could have been there. Bob was a very nice man and I'll always remember his smiling face when he came to the Y. He will be missed, but we will look forward to seeing Eva when she comes in! God Bless.
