Frances Ann McCowan, 92, formerly of Coatesville, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Susquehanna Valley Nursing Home of Columbia.
She was the widow of the late Aaron McCowan who passed in 1994.
She was a 1936 graduate of the Parkesburg High School. She had worked at the former Woolworth Dept. Store of Coatesville, the former Gift Shop of Coatesville Hospital and was a health care worker.
Frances is survived by her two sons: Ronald T. McCowan, husband of Arloa, of Newtown, Pa., and Rodney G. McCowan, husband of Joan, of Denver, Pa.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Jacob, Chester, Tillie, Jessie and Mary.
The memorial service will be held on Monday, January 30th at 2 PM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Parkesburg Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held from 1:30 until 2 PM.

My deepest sympathy to the McCowan Family in the loss of your Mom. I just received word today of her passing.(2/25/12). I first met Frances while living on Mrs. Sahlin's "farm". She was my surrogate Mom, so giving,smart,comforting,and just the best friend anyone could want. We always enjoyed visiting and having tea together.I have so many wonderful memories of Frannie. I can still hear her her funny little chuckle!She loved her flowers, her animals, but most of all her family.
