Barbara R. Chaney

Barbara R. Chaney, 70, of Gordonville, died on Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Lancaster Regional Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Clarence E. Chaney with whom she shared 24 years of marriage. Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Elma Simmons Shultz.

Barb was area resident al her life and 1962 graduate of the Octorara High School. She was employed at the former Jamesway Dept. Store in Thorndale. She attended the Parkesburg Methodist Church.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by four step children; Rod Chaney and wife Nancy of Pittsburgh, Dennis Chaney and wife Linda of Blandon, PA, Amy, wife of Dennis Hoffman of Downingtown and Carrie Wimer of Downingtown, five step grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, four sisters, Joan, wife of Ted Shaw of Gap, Donna cook of Parkesburg, Jerry Lou Gillespie of Parkesburg and Mary Jane Pittman of Quarryville and one brother Dennis Shultz of Parkesburg. She was preceded in death by by two siblings; Alfred Shultz and Betty Wilson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Upper Octorara Cemetery, Parkesburg. Viewing Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 pm and also Friday from 10 to 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
