Doris Emily Hufcut

Doris Emily Hufcut, 92 of Ronks, PA, formerly a longtime resident of Dover Plains NY passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 3, 2024. She was born on November 11, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Laura Bittner.

She married Robert Hufcut on May 3, 1972 in Pleasant Valley NY, who predeceased her on October 18, 2004.

Doris worked as a waitress at her family owned Cedar Knolls Diner in Dover Plains NY. She later helped assist her husband run their family business Hufcut Refuse. Doris also worked at the Dover School District as a cafeteria worker. One of Doris’s passions was writing poetry, where she had published several additions of her work.

Doris is survived by her loving companion of six years; George Conover. She is also survived by her children Doris E Jones of Strasburg, PA and George W Cargill Jr of Lebanon PA.

Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by three brothers, Ernest Bittner Jr, Bill Williams and Clay O’Dell.

Sweet for sisters, swell for brothers.

And chances are some favorite aunts.

Love them more than potted plants.

Kittens crave them, puppies love them.

Heads of State are not above them.

A Hug can break the language barrier.

And make the dullest day seem marrier.

No need to fret about the storm of them.

The more you give, the more there are of ‘em.

So stretch those arms without delay.

And give someone a Hug today.
