Donna Marie Bruno, 72, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, in West Chester, PA.  She was the wife of Anthony J. "Tony" Bruno Jr. for over 40 years.  Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Leban A. and Margaret Thompson Ward.

Donna grew up in the Downingtown area and was "Miss Baby Downingtown" in 1953.  She worked for a short time for WCOJ radio in the news department. More recently she worked as a nursing assistant for the former Harrison House in Christiana and for St. Martha's Manor in Downingtown as an activity director.  She really enjoyed working with the residents and staff at St. Martha's where she had 22 years of perfect attendance and received a $1,000 Caregiver of the Year Award by the Philadelphia Archdiocese in 2012.

She enjoyed working on puzzles, animals and growing flowers.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Linda) Tomlinson, and Jennifer Tomlinson,(companion Robert Hackett), a step daughter, Victoria Deck (companion Scott Shivers), eight granddaughters, Micheala Evans, Dakota Connelly, Ruth Sheperd, Cheyenne Hackett, Rayen Hackett, Alicia Deck,(companion, Jonathan Ruiz), Arianna Deck, and Angelina Deck, one step grandson,Nathan Ferguson, one great granddaughter,Eva, and sister, Linda (Bruce) Mowday.  She was preceded in death by siblings, Robert R. Ward, and George E. Messner., and Peggy Yohn.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Parkesburg United Methodist Church, 411 Main St. Parkesburg, PA with visitation at the church from 10:00 AM to the time of the service.

I am so very sorry for your lose. I worked with Donna at Harrison House for about 3 years. She was the best coworker and friend. Never complained, always willing to help me. You are all in my prayers.
