Elizabeth A. "Betty" Fredd

Elizabeth A. "Betty" Fredd, 90, of Gum Tree, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA. She was the wife of the late Donald T. "Rip" Fredd who died in 2022. They shared 66 years of marriage together. Born near Beaver Dam, Highland Township, Chester County, she was the daughter of the late E. Harold Anderson and Minnie Mae Smith Anderson.

Betty was an area resident all her life and a 1950 graduate of the former Scott High School in Coatesville. She was employed early on by the former Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville as a secretary. She was a member of the  Friendship United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two children; Thomas G. Fredd of Gum Tree and partner Melinda Benson and Sandra L. Franciscus and husband John of Gap, three grandchildren; Jessica Estes and husband William of Elverson, Laura Fredd-Maxwell and husband Andrew of Downingtown, Carl Franciscus and fiancé Amanda Gehron of Pomeroy, nine great grandchildren. one sister Margaret "Peg" Watters of Gum Tree and one brother Douglas F. Anderson of West Caln Township, Chester County. She was preceded in death by three brothers; George, James and Robert Anderson. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Friendship United Methodist Church, 123 East Friendship Church Rd., Coatesville, PA 19320 with visitation at the church from 10:00 AM to the time of the service. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
