Daniel Scott Hoey, 61, of Downingtown, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA. He was the beloved husband of Rahn G. Brackin with whom he shared 21 years prior their marriage in 2015.

Born in Phillipsburg, Warren County, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Horace H. Hoey and Betsey Ann Haines Hoey, and grandson of the late Lawrence W. Haines and Anna M. Allen Haines whom he adored.

Dan was a 1978 graduate of Clearview Regional High School in Mullica Hill, NJ.  During his working career, he was employed by various retail banks, but his favorite job was his tenure with the Federal Reserve Bank in Philadelphia, PA

Dan had a passion for sterling silver and fine China. He was often sought after for his expertise to identify unique characteristics of these items as well as other fine antiques.  Dan also enjoyed cooking and canning. 

Dan was a generous soul that created friendships with everyone he met. His infectious smile was always welcomed and treated those with a gentle kindness. He was a good man who loved his family and his Lord and Savior. 

He attended the Olivet United Methodist Church in Coatesville, PA and loved to sing the great hymns of the church.

He is survived, in addition to his husband, by two sisters; Sharon Hoey Carpenter (Bert) of  Glassboro, NJ and Annette Hoey Cannon (Barney) of Gastonia, NC. niece Amanda, and nephews Bryan, and Alex, and great-niece, Valentina. 

He is also survived by cherished cousins, Wildred S. Sharp and Family of Middletown, DE and Christine A. Fuller and Family of Wagontown, PA.

Services will be private.

Danny, meeting you and being your friend changed my whole life. I understand what Rahn means when he discusses the sweet smile you had for everyone. I could count on you to cheer me on my darkest days. You will remain in my heart forever and ever.

Rahn,   So sorry to hear about Dan's passing.   We are now living in TN and are "out of the loop" so to speak with things back in PA  May the Lord comfort
