Elva Irene Althouse, 100, of Cochranville, passed away at the Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford on Saturday, June 19, 2021 where she resided the last years of her life. She was the wife of the late Marvin S. Althouse who died in 1995. Born in Cochranville, Elva was the daughter of the late Alexander Bruce Campbell and Bessie White Campbell.
Elva was a lifelong resident of Cochranville and a 1938 graduate of the former Cochranville High School. She was a life member of Cochranville United Methodist Church, where served on various committees and she was a member of the Women's Society of Church and Life member of the former Cochranville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by one sister Betty Ennis of the village of Homeville, PA and a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and two sister-in-laws; Mary Campbell of Quarryville, PA and Joyce Madeira of Hershey, PA.
She was preceded in death by her siblings; Arthur Campbell, Roland Campbell, Robert Campbell and Clyde Campbell.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Cochranville United Methodist Church, 92 Church St, Cochranville, PA 19330. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the church from 10:00 to the time of the service. Burial will follow in the adjoining Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cochranville United Methodist Church at the above address in her memory.
