Carolyn J. Spotts, 83, of Coatesville, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Tel Hai Retirement Community with her daughters by her side. She was the widow of the late James N. Spotts, with whom she shared 42 years of marriage.
Born in Todd, N.C., Carolyn was the daughter of the late Jessie (Howell) and William E. Moretz. She was a 1949 graduate of the Landis High School of North Carolina.
Carolyn was a former member of Coatesville Bible Fellowship Church and current member of the Kingsway Independent Church.
Carolyn cherished her time spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters: Sandy Devine, wife of George, of Coatesville and Sherry Herman, wife of Harold "Bud", of Coatesville; four grandchildren, Renee Marshall, wife of Brad, Thom Devine, Heather Stoutenburg, wife of Greg and Kyle Herman, husband of Sara; five great grandchildren, Karis, Max, Ulysses, Lydia and William; and one sister, Joanne Scott, wife of Earl, of Downingtown.
Carolyn was predeceased by siblings Edward, Dot, Lib, Johnny, Vivian and William.
The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 4 PM at Gateway Grace Community Church, 160 Cowan Road, Parkesburg, PA with visitation from 3 until 4 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Kingsway Independent Church, Memo: Camp Scholarships, 55 Morris Lane, Coatesville, PA 19320 or to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.

What a dear, sweet lady
What a dear, sweet lady Carolyn was. She and Jim had attended our wedding in 1980. I always appreciated her quiet, gentle spirit. You have my sympathy.
