William M. Wise, Sr., 74, of Coatesville, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Coatesville VA Hospice Center. Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of Beulah Meggett Ross of West Chester and the late James Lee Wise, Sr. 

Mr. Wise proudly served in the US Army from 1960 to 1962. He was employed at the Coatesville VAMC in transportation retiring with 37 years of service. 

Mr. Wise enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar, listening to blues music, playing chess, card games, visiting Delaware Park, and spending time with his children and family. 

He is survived, in addition to his Mother, by six children; Gilbert Lawrence of Cleveland, Ohio, William M. Wise, Jr. of Coatesville, Carletta Wise of Coatesville, Carmen Wise of Coatesville, Karen Griffy and husband Raymond of West Chester and Belinda Braxton of Coatesville, his former wife Mary Ann Johnson of Coatesville, three step children; Arnold Middleton of Coatesville, Marcus Wise of Downingtown, Tamara Braxton-Cheek and husband Elijah of Maryland, 15 grandchildren, three sisters; Katherine McGowan of Philadephia, Weedashun Simmons of Charlotte, SC and Janice Freedman of Charleston, SC and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his twin sister Willamae Wise and two brothers Jimmy Lee Wise, Jr. (#1) and Jimmy Lee Wise, Jr. (#2).

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 11:00 am from the Coatesville VAMC, All Faith Chapel, Building 72, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing from 9:00 am to the time of the service.  Burial of remains will be held privately at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg, PA. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com
