William Leroy Christie, 58, of Narvon, went home to be with the Lord on August 19th, 2022 under the care of Ephrata Hosptial. He was the husband of Annette (Demko) Christie, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage.
Born in West Chester, William was the son of the late Alberta Patricia (Burkey) and William Malcolm Christie. He was the second-generation co-owner of Christie's Hardwood Flooring, LLC, where he worked for 25 years.
William enjoyed playing his electric guitar and listening to Classic Rock and Classic County music. He was a craftsman who enjoyed working with wood and leather. He loved his dog, "Zeus" and the late "Toby", "Chase" and "Bear". He was really proud of all three of his boys for joining the family business. William loved the Lord with all his heart.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three sons: Matthew Christie, husband of Jolene, of Gap, Zachary Christie of Ephrata and Jason Christie of Narvon; granddaughter, Cecilia Marie Christie; and siblings, Betty "Dolly" Noles of Johnstown, Janet "Polly" Gregor of Parkesburg, Mary Jane "Molly" Marshman of Honey Brook, and Patricia "Patty" Knott of Honey Brook; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 2 PM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment at Fairview Presbyterian Cemetery in Glenmoore. The viewing will be held at the funeral home on both Thursday evening, August 25th from 6 until 7 PM and on August 26th from 1:30 PM until the time of the service at 2 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
