Ronald P. Tyson, 91, of Thorndale, PA passed away peacefully at home on January 6, 2024
surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Elaine Reynolds Tyson
with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, PA; he was the son of the
late Harry E. and Ethel (Powell) Tyson.
Ron, an area resident all his life, was a 1952 graduate of the former Scott High School in
Coatesville where he was active in all sports. He proudly served in the US Army during the
Korean War, was a member of the American Legion in Christiana and a lifetime member of
the West End Fire Company. He retired from the former Lukens Steel Company in
Coatesville after 32 years of service.
Ron was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family.
He enjoyed various outdoor activities including golf and fishing. He was an avid Phillies and
Eagles fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter Carole Turansky (Jim), son Ron Tyson
(Kristin) and grandchildren Amanda Tyson, Jonathan Tyson and Emily Tyson.
In accordance with Ron’s wishes, there will be a private graveside service at Birmingham
Lafayette Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
