Robert L. Myers, 91, of Cochranville, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Harrison House Senior Living Center in Christiana. He was the loving husband of Helen B. Myers, who passed away this past November after they had shared 71 years of marriage together.

Born in Highland Twp., he was the son of the late Robert P. and Elva M. Myers, and the stepson of the late Anna Myers. An area resident his entire life, he was a 1936 graduate of the Coatesville High School. He served honorably in the US Army during W.W.II, earning a Bronze Star for his efforts in Germany. He owned and operated "Myers Store" of Gum Tree from 1948 until 1961, and then was employed at the former Lukens Steel as a Heat Recorder, retiring at the age of 65. Robert was a member of the Faith Bible Chapel and the Golden Age Club of Cochranville.

He is survived by two children: Janet, wife of Warren Hardy, of Gap and John Myers, husband of Alice, of Christiana, four grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one brother, Richard Myers of Malvern. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, M. David Myers, and Cheryl A. Hardy, one great grandson Cpl. Brandon M. Hardy and two siblings, Ralph Myers and Marian Clayton.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 11 AM at the Faith Bible Chapel, 140 Bernard Ave, Cochranville, Pa. 19330 followed by interment at the Glen Run Baptist Cemetery of Atglen. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing, which will be held at the church from 10 am to the time of the service.
