Robert L. Criswell

Robert L. Criswell, 84, of New Holland and formerly of Coatesville, Pa., died on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at his home.  He was the widower of Dorothy Jean Simmons Criswell with whom he shared 45 years of marriage before her passing in 2003.  

Born in Martin's Corner, Robert was the son of the late Lillian (McMinn) and Charles Criswell.  Robert was a 1948 graduate of Scott High School.  He lived on his farm in Coatesville for 38 years and moved to New Holland in 2001.  

He served honorably in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955.

Robert was employed by Bell of PA until his retirement in 1985.  

He was member of the Limeville United Methodist Church where he served as Trustee.  
 
He is survived by four children: William G. Criswell, husband of Pam, of Coatesville, Bonnie J. Criswell of New Holland, Rebecca E. Zeeger, wife of Kevin, of Downingtown and Robert L. Jr., husband of Katie, of Coatesville; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two siblings, Chester "Ted" Criswell of Parkesburg and Martha Criswell Shank of Parkesburg.   

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11 AM at the Limeville United Methodist Church, 5783 Limeville Road, Gap. Relatives and friends may call at the Church on Saturday morning from 9 am to the time of service. Interment will follow at the Cochranville Methodist Cemetery.
