Jane D. Heineman, 77, of Pomeroy passed away at Chester County Hospital on Friday, December 23, 2022. Born in West Chester she was the daughter of the late John Jefferson Darlington and Bernice Darlington. She was the beloved wife of the late Neil H. Heineman Sr. with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.  

She was a 1962 graduate of West Chester Senior High School and went on to pursue a degree from Westminster College. She was later employed as a mechanical designer and pipeline dispatcher for Interstate Energy Company before retiring in 2008.  

Jane enjoyed collecting antiques and LEGOs, gardening, painting, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy on a nightly basis. She was a proud member of the Chester County historical society and a lifetime member of the girl scouts.  She served on the PA One Call board as well as Sadsbury Township’s Planning Commission. She also volunteered for many years at the woman’s exchange in West Chester. She enjoyed working there immensely and made many lifelong friends. 

She is survived by two children: Tammie Heineman of Pomeroy and Neil H. Heineman Jr. and wife Lisa of Mukilteo, Washington. Additionally, she is survived by two grandchildren: Emily and Alex.  

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 13, 2023, from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, PA 19365. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation period taking place from 10 AM until the start of the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chester County Historical Society, Development Department, 225 North High Street, West Chester, PA 19380.

Condolences

Our sincerest sympathy goes to Jane's family. We are so sorry for your loss. Both Jane and Neal were frequent Buttonwood visitors and will most definitely be missed. Unfortunately, we are not able to attend her service but will be thinking of all of you.
