James Estel "Doc" Mahaffey

James Estel "Doc" Mahaffey, 91, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the Brandywine Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Charlotte Brown Mahaffey with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Born in Lansing, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Coy Mahaffey and Katie Comer Mahaffey.

Doc was an area resident since 1949. He was employed most of his life as a mushroom worker.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two daughters; Mary Christie and husband Kevin of Parkesburg and Malissa "Missy" Sotolotto and husband Victor of Quarryville, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three sisters. he was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Kemblesville Methodist Cemetery in Landenberg, PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and also Monday morning from 10:00 AM to the time of the service.
