J. Donald Tillman, Jr., 82, of Coatesville, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the widower of the late Marsha (Miller) Tillman, with whom he shared 21 years of marriage.
Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Elizabeth (Helyak) and James Donald Tillman, Sr. He was a graduate of Coatesville High School.
Donald retired as Maintenance Superintendent for Heckett Multiserv after 44 years of employment.
Donald was a member of the Brandywine Goddard Masonic Lodge #383 of Coatesville. He was a life member of the Polish American Citizens Club in Coatesville.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. In his younger years, he was part of the pit crew for his brother-in-law's racing team. Donald restored a 1940 Ford Coupe from the frame to finish. Most important, Donald built an incredible family. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and would do anything for them. He lived and lead by example.
Donald is survived by his two sons, James D. Tillman, III of Fort Myers, Florida, and John Michael Tillman, and wife Carol of Coatesville; and two stepsons, Robert Cook and wife Cindy Commero-Cook of Willow Street, Pa., and Gary Cook and wife Jennifer of Gap; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and his sister, Darlene Romanosky of Fort Myers, Florida.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his step-son, David M. Cook, and brother Ronald Eugene Tillman, Sr.
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 21st at 2 PM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main Street, Parkesburg, Pa., followed by an interment at Fairview Cemetery of Coatesville. The viewing will be from 1 until 1:45 PM, at which time a Masonic Service will take place.

Not just because he was my cousin, or because we shared many of the same interests. But because he truly was a good guy! Rest in peace my Masonic Brother, Cousin and Friend.

My sincere condolences to Donald’s family. My late husband (Buddy Brooks) worked with him at Luria Brothers and we remained in touch for many years.
I am also sorry that Marcia passed away. I always called Donald the Coatesville Gazette.
