Iris V. Bernard

Iris V. (Dean) Bernard, 93, formerly of Coatesville, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on August 13, 2017 at Pocopson Nursing Home. She was the widow of the late Robert Bernard who passed away in late 2016 after they had shared 67 years of marriage.  

Born at St. Luke's Hospital in the County of London on November 28, 1923.  Iris was the daughter of William and Hilda Dean. Iris served honorably in The Royal Air Force. She moved to the States after serving her Country. She was an interesting, beautiful and an amazing woman also a great friend and loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Great Aunt. She enjoyed life, sewing, painting, gardening and was an avid reader. 

She is survived, by her brother Dennis Dean and wife Brenda, Daughters Barbara Eckenroth and husband Kenneth Eckenroth,  Debbie Hoffecker, two Granddaughters Nicole Mammarella and Brittany Burns and Grandson Steven Mammarella, two Great Granddaughters Ashley Mammarella and Madison Cox, Great Grandson Austin Cox. Aunt of Nieces and Great Nieces that live in England. She was preceded in death by brother William and her parents. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg, PA.  All services will be private at the convenience of the family. The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses at Pocopson Nursing Home and Hospice that provided such compassionate care.
