Irene G. Shead, 68, of Gap, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015. She was the beloved wife of Dennis W. Shead with whom she shared 44 years of marriage. Born in TN, she was the daughter of the late James and Jenny Denton Greenway.
Irene was an area resident since 1985. She was employed, for 24 years, by Brandywine GI as a receptionist retiring in 2013. She was a member of the Bart Mennonite Church.
Irene enjoyed trips to the beach at Wildwood, NJ, Hershey Kisses, good pizza, listening to Johnny Mathis and celebrating Christmas. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived, in addition to her husband, by three children; James Shead, Stephanie Shead, wife of Ronnie King and Vanessa Shead, all of Parkesburg and eight grandchildren; Jessica King, Savanah King, Veronica King, Layla Eden Edwards, Austen Procyson, Dalten Procyson, Solomon Shead and Maximus Shead. She was preceded in death by one brother Robert Posey.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Hillside Cemetery in Roslyn, PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing from 9 to 11:00am.
