Ernest L. Boyes, Sr., 57, of Coatesville, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2009 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Elaine Martin Boyes, with whom he would have shared 38 years of marriage this June.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two sons: Ernest L. Boyes Jr. fiance of Stephanie Scott of Parkesburg, James A. Boyes, husband of Kimberly, of Oxford; three granddaughters, Ashley Begley of Lancaster and Rylee and Kara of Oxford; and four siblings, Willard Boyes, Kenneth Boyes, Sharon Sweitzer, all of Coatesville, and Cynthia Kewley of Sterling, VA. Condolences

Please accept our sincere sympathy for the loss of your husband, son, father, grandfather and brother.
I worked with Ernie for four years at Hill Lab. In that time Ernie and I became very close friends. He was the kindest and most helpful person that I have ever worked with. Ernie always came in to work with a smile on his face, no matter how much pain he was in. I will miss him terribly

I am sure that I just talked to Ernie a few weeks ago - he and his wife were at Dutchway Market. I was shocked when a classmate e-mailed me of Ernie's passing. May he rest in peace. Jack Mariano - Octorara class of 1971.

Ernie is resting in the arms of Jesus and pain free.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have ever lasting life.

I do not recall seeing Ernie since graduation, but I do remember Ernie being a Godly man and from what I have been reading, he continued that walk with God over the years. As the list of those that have passed on from the Class of 1971 grows larger, I wonder how many will will spend eternity in Heaven and how many will spend it in Hell. Which one of our class will be next? To the family...God will give you the peace that passes all understanding.

One of the last conversations Ern had with our two sons (who also love the Lord) refered to that if the pain he was experiencing was anything like what an eternity in Hell would be like, it made him full of fear for those who would chose to reject Jesus and God's plan of salvation.
