Edith I. Marisuto, 89, of Coatesville, passed away at her home on Friday, April 17, 2015.
Born in Lenover, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Carmela (Laudadio) and Dominic Madonna.
She was a seamstress for approximately 30 years. Retired in 1983 from Amalgamated Clothing and Pincus Brothers in Philadelphia.
Edith is survived by her two daughters: Anna Marie (Marisuto) Viscusi of Coatesville and Joanne (Marisuto) Ehinger, wife of Robert, of Downingtown; four grandchildren and one brother, Albert Madonna, Columbia, KY.
For many years, Edith enjoyed sewing clothes for family (and doll clothes too), curtains, crocheting afghans, crewel, and embroidery. Unfortunately, she developed severe RA in her hands and macular degeneration. But then puzzles and playing cards with her grandchildren became a highlight. She won, of course!
She spent time with each one of them and enjoyed their accomplishments and talents. "Grammy" was so proud of her grandchildren! While under Hospice care, she made plastic canvas "Cross-In-The-Pocket" trinkets. They were distributed at Freedom Village and the Harrison House to other terminally ill patients. Her hurting hands were always helping hands!
Family and friends are invited for Visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday May 2nd. Followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am to be held at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St, Parkesburg, PA 19320.

Aunt Eadie
My Dear Cousin,
Thank you for your sweet and loving condolences. Yes, she was a wonderful woman, my dearest friend, your favorite aunt, and a lifelong loving sister to your mother. She was there for EVERYONE! Her hands never stopped her whole life, even to the last night. And everything that came from her hands was beautiful....her crafts, her cooking and baking, her sewing, her care of ALL our pets, her beautiful nurturing of each and every one of her grandchildren (she experienced time with them from their first baths to at least 6 yrs of age). Then while living with me, she insisted on folding the clothes, even though her hands pained her terribly, just to continue to help! Her hard working 'farm girl' hands never stopped nor her Ever Loving Heart for anyone she knew!
I was truly blessed with my Mom. And she is within me for the rest of my life. God heard my prayers to take her without much pain and He answered.
Her strength and courage is still encouraging us to do the same in our lives.... and that will give her peace and comfort to know she did a great job her whole life!
Now God needs her help in Heaven as Tailor, Child Care, Housekeeper, and Pet Care . So she is still a very busy lady!
Thank you, Lisa for taking a moment to enlighten our hearts during this difficult time. You and I share the same loss....our closest Aunts!
They are happily together now!
Love you Sweetie! Now we can get through this together.....
I Love You, Anna Marie xoxoxo

Dear Anna Marie & Joanne,
Dear Anna Marie & Joanne,
We were so sorry to hear the news of your Mom passing. We will always have the fondest memories of Edith. I'll always remember the times my mother and Edith would visit and and just sit and talk or do some sort of craft or sew. Mom would enjoy Edith's visits after she had moved. So many memories of a very special lady. We were so blessed to have her in our lives.
Our condolences go out to you Anna Marie and Joanne and of course your wonderful families.
Love,
Don & Donna
So sorry to hear of Aunt Edy's passing. My thoughts are with you both.
